Amazing
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Ethan our pilot was great. Explained what we were seeing and answered all our question. Riding in a Blue Helicopter was like riding in a Cadillac. All the staff we encountered were courteous polite and very helpful.

Waterfall landing
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Our 2 1/2 hour helicopter tour of the Big Island was well-worth the cost, especially the waterfall landing. Truly memorable.

Breathtaking!!! Amazing 90 minute adventure in the sky. Spectacular views of volcanoes, cliffs and water falls. Great pilot, kept everyone calm. Once we were up in the air, just sat back and took incredible photos. Not inexpensive, but hey once in a lifetime it was worth it.

ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

This was by far one of the best excursions the wife and I have ever done ! Our pilot John was very well informed on all of the island and volcanos . This is a pricey tour but soooooo worth it. The helicopter was comfortable and everyone gets their own headset to ask questions . They also shoot a video of your ride to purchase at the end of your ride. I highly recommend to upgrade to the landing package , its beautiful , and the photo opps are worth it. A really big thank you to our Pilot John ! 5 stars all the way .

Magic Carpet Ride c/o Blue Hawaiian Helicopters
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

I’ll start off by saying that I’m a pilot. As you might imagine, I’m accustomed to viewing the world from above and have spent time flying over a variety of sites, mostly in California. Although not rated for rotorcraft (helicopter) I have previously spent some time in helicopters. Perhaps, being a pilot myself and given my experience being aloft in a helicopter presents no anxiety. Other than for the Captain, Marco, he and I were the only two aboard with with flight experience. Why mention this? Well, it has been my experience that non pilots, when aloft for the first time in a helicopter tend to be a bit tense. Not so on this occasion. There were six of us aboard with accommodations for seven. Everyone was relaxed and comfortable. This aircraft, an Aerostar Ecostar, unlike others I’ve flown in, was extremely spacious and very comfortable. Although this is a turbine powered helicopter, the vibration was minimal. The aircraft is equipped with directional overhead air conditioning vents and the air temperature was both pleasant and refreshing. The seating configuration of this aircraft allowed for three persons up front (the pilot and two passengers), and an additional four in the rear portion of the cabin. Regardless of your seating position, the visibility is outstanding! Naturally being in the front provides the best forward view, but there isn’t really a bad seat in the house. I was seated in the second position from the left, inboard of the large side windows. My fiancée was seated immediately beside the window from which she had an excellent, unobstructed view (to the left side, as opposed to looking forward) from her position. From where I was seated, I had a good view forward (between the pilot and the inside front passenger) in addition to a minimally obstructed view from the side rear door. Although my field of vision to the left was limited compared to hers, we were both in good photographic positions. (A word to the wise here, be certain to wear dark clothing, especially if seated by either side door. If not, your light colored clothing will reflect off the widow and will negatively affect your photos. Shorts, with exposed skin will do the same.) Getting to the tour now. Make no mistake, the “Spectacular” tour is expensive. Despite the cost, however, it is a fabulous way to see the Big Island. Our weather was great and from our vantage point the view was unparalleled. Well worth the expense in my opinion. This tour runs very nearly two hours with about an hour and a half airborne. During that time we visited the caldera of Kilauea and a beautiful waterfall where we landed for about twenty minutes. If you’ve never been in a helicopter, I think that you’ll find both the approach to landing and the takeoff to be very exciting. There were a great many excellent sights to be seen throughout the tour, but for me it was the caldera and the waterfall that were the most memorable. Throughout the tour, Marco shared his detailed knowledge of the island’s volcanic history, the complex workings of a volcano, among other things. He welcomed and encouraged what ever questions we had. To accommodate communications, each passenger is provided with a high end Bose noise canceling headset and microphone. Helicopters are very noisy inside, but the Bose headsets, made specifically for aircraft, were outstanding. These headsets generally run around $1,000 each and are essential equipment. For those folks concerned about flight safety take note that Marco (and I would imagine his fellow pilots) is a highly trained professional pilot. His demeanor exudes an air of confidence, while from a fellow pilot’s perspective, his care and professionalism were outstanding. If the rest of the pilots employed by Blue Hawaiian are the same, you’re in both experienced and competent hands. All too soon our time was up and we returned to our point of departure. We left the aircraft with the feeling that our tour afforded us an opportunity to see and experience this island from an unparalleled perspective. There are so many places inaccessible from the surface. If you want to really want to see the sights this island has to offer, a helicopter tour is your ticket. Yes, they’re expensive, but you’ll make memories that you won’t soon forget. On the downside, obviously everyone makes mistakes. Unfortunately, on this tour I was sold an upgrade to ride in one of the front seats. While walking out to the aircraft, the ground reception employee discovered that the front seats had been oversold. It turned out that two of our companions had been sold the front seats months prior to this flight. Although disappointing, in all fairness, I agreed to give up the seat I’d just up graded to (naturally they were very apologetic and promptly refunded my money for the upgrade). In closing, regardless of where you sit, I have no doubt that you’ll enjoy yourself! Have a great experience!

Totally Awesome
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Our pilot, Marco was entertaining & knowledgable. Flying over the volcanoes was the highlight & he made sure that all of us got a good view. We didn't realize that the waterfalls landing was an option so we were a little disappointed when it didn't happen. Aside from that it was an amazing outing..Ed & Joan

No other way to see just how spectacular the big island is!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

If you've ever been moved by nature, this experience will top it. This island simply explodes with awe, beauty, power, and spirit. There is no other way to see some of the most incredible sights on offer. The flight was completely comfortable, even for a white-knuckle flier. A (perhaps THE) highlight of our visit. Do not miss. First the ground crew, then the pilot, Matt, were so completely professional, we were put at ease. Once we took off, even my wife - a white-knuckle flier - was comfortable and captivated. We peered deep into a gaping volcano, sailed over lush forests, glided over sapphire waves, peered along majestic cliffs with fairytale waterfalls, flew into pristine valleys, and were treated to a few sightings of humpback whales. They provided shuttle service from our nearby hotel. While the flight is expensive, it is worth the cost, without question.

A Must Do While at the Big Island
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

This is one "must do" while on the Big Island - there is just no other way to see it. Our pilot Toshi was friendly and knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. The chopper was big enough to be comfortable for normal sized people. We stopped at the bottom of a waterfall and one of the gentleman with us proposed to his girlfriend right there at the waterfall! (I got to video it on his phone.) How cool to have an engagement on this trip!

Beware false advertising
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

It was amazing, spectacular, magical, and thrilling. But it wasn't 2 hours as advertised, it was 1 hour 45 minutes. Our pilot, John, was professional, friendly and knowledgeable and the staff was great and there's no better way to see the island. Just be aware that you're not getting what was promised. Would have given 5 stars if it was, or if they had just been honest about the flight time up front. But otherwise, well worth it and completely fantastic.

Fantastic helicopter tour
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We did the Big Island spectacular tour with Shane. It was a beautiful day with good visibility so we had fantastic views. Seeing the volcanoes and the lava flows from above was amazing and then flying over the mountains and valleys in the north with the dramatic waterfalls was stunning. Shane shared a lot of knowledge with us. A fantastic helicopter tour.

The only way to see the Big Island!!!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

This was our first time doing a helicopter tour, and this one did not disappoint and exceeded my expectations!!! Our pilot's name was Josh and he was very personable, nice, and very knowledgeable. He even had theme music which was absolutely perfect, especially while flying over the volcanoes. We did the waterfall landing and that was just the cherry on top. We also saw some whales and Josh got us nice and close to them. We were very impressed and would love to do another tour through them in the future, definitely recommend this tour!!!

Remote Waterfall Landing
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Blue Hawaiian offers an epic experience by landing in a remote waterfall location that is accessible only by helicopter. The experience comes complete with champagne, cheese and crackers in a very remote corner of paradise where a 400' waterfall meets the ocean. Ask specifically for GREG, he is an excellent pilot with awesome hosting skills. Greg knows how to provide the right amount of attention and privacy for your group at the same same time. I highly recommend Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and specifically, Greg as the pilot,....Mahalo!

Awesome views that you don’t want to miss!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

My wife and I did this tour last week which I booked online. I was sent an email confirmation of the trip and the details such as arrival time and what you should wear(dark clothes). I was scheduled for the 0915 trip but ended up changing it to the early trip which I did via email. We arrived and checked in and were both weighed. This is so they can place you on the aircraft in the right spot so the weight is distributed properly. A safety video is watched before you fly explaining the procedures in the event of an emergency. We were introduced to our Pilot, Toshi. He was an amazing pilot who took us over the volcanoes and various waterfalls. He was very enlightening and encouraged questions throughout the trip. He was funny and very safety conscious as well. I think he said he was flying for 21 years and you could tell he was good by the way he handled his aircraft. Our trip lasted for two hours and was one of the highlights of our visit to the Big Island! I know this is an expensive tour, however I would highly recommend paying the extra money to land at the waterfall along the coast. We wanted to but they only allow so many landings at the falls for each trip and our time was already booked for this. I was envious of the two helo’s that were on the ground as we flew overhead.

A Must For Everyone
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

This is the best way to see Kona. What a fantastic trip to see Kona and Hilo. The flight over the volcanos, seeing the humpback whales, and the whole island of Hawaii was spectacular. Our tour guide Matt was the best. Definitely a must if you come to Kona.
