We often talk this trip. We love the video too. Shay was awesome. He made sure he turned the helicopter for me so I could get some great pictures. The flight was so much smoother than I had anticipated. I didn't want it to be over. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I was disappointed that we didn't get to see the Na Pali coastline as we didn't get to do our boat ride either. Oh well, safety first. But oh the waterfalls and the volcano. You really had us up close and personal with that. Just an amazing trip, we can't stop talking about it. Very professional crew from start to finish. If you are scared, don't be. I am terrified of heights and I wasn't scared at all. I did take Bonine at night and again an hour before just in case. I had no problems at all. Do it, you won't regret it !! I miss Kauai.
We got lucky. There were no clouds the whole trip. The 50 minutes went by like that! Awesome organization from start to finish. Can see pets of the island only accessible by helicopter plane or backpack!!! Views for days. Best money spent on the island.
Absolutely phenomenal. A friend and I decided to do both a boat and helicopter tour of Kauai. Pricey, but this helicopter tour was worth every single cent. You're never ready for it to end. Beth was our pilot and she was everything you could ask for. She knew the lay of the island, facts about it's existence and is a 3rd generation pilot. What??!! I never felt unsafe and could not take my eyes off the ever changing landscape and beauty of Kauai. If you really want to experience paradise, see Kauai from a helicopter with Blue Hawaiian. Seriously.
It was our first ever visit to the Island of Kauai and we wanted to really see it. So we booked the helicopter tour. Friends had recommended "Blue Hawaiian Tours" and we were not disappointed. This is a first class operation from start to finish. If you do one thing while you are visiting, this is it. Our pilot was Brian AKA "Flyin' Brian". He was great. I recommend booking early (before you arrive) because these folks fill up the seats fast.
We had a great experience on our Blue Hawaii helicopter tour! Brian was our pilot, and he was excellent. He shared some great information about Kauai, and some personal stories as well. He was very attentive to us throughout the flight, and made it so enjoyable. It was clear that he loved his job - and that made the experience all-the-more enjoyable. This is an expensive excursion...we almost didn't to it. But, it was well worth it. Don't miss this one...one of the highlights of our trip!
The trip was spectacular with wonderful views (of what I could see) and Brody was excellent and very knowledgeable. However, I am 5'5" and was seated in a back row in the middle, with a tall man in the front of me. Two men got to sit in the front and three women and a child were placed in the back. Because of my restricted view, I was unable to take any pictures, as I had no view out the front, and there was a person on my left and two people on my right.
Glad I did this, but it wasn't amazing to me. I felt like I had to see the Na pali coast before I left so I am glad I didn't miss it but the tour was a little "canned" Our pilot Geoffrey, was very nice and experienced but he didn't have much to say during the tour. He talked about the music playing a lot. I felt like maybe he was sick of doing the tours and maybe he was looking for the tourists to ask questions so he didn't have to come up with anything to say during the tour.
Incredible views of the island of Kauai, and our pilot, Daryl, provided great detailed narration of the sights we were seeing. Daryl was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the island and related well to all the passengers on our flight. It was obvious that he enjoyed sharing the tales of the island with us, and had great respect for the land and the Hawaiian legends. Ride was very smooth from start to finish. I just finished watching the video from our flight, and it was awesome to re-live it all over again. It was also nice to know they were recording the video, making it less important that I captured my own pictures and I could just relax and enjoy the scenery. Definitely recommend this tour - it is the only way to see some parts of the island of Kauai.
This was my first time in a helicopter so I had anxiety for many months about this helicopter ride that my spouse had gifted to me. (I have ridden on 4 seater planes in the past and did not do well!) THIS WAS AMAZING! First of all, you do not even feel like you are in a helicopter. You have a microphone to communicate with the pilot and passengers and noise cancelling headphones and the ride feels very stable. It was truly incredible. I never felt nauseous or claustrophobic. There are windows all around so you can really see all angles and the space is rather big in the helicopter so you don't feel cramped. Next, our pilot Brodie was also AMAZING! He was extremely experienced, knowledgeable and respectful of his island home and would always circumnavigate all the areas, telling each of us by name that he was turning so to look out our side of the helicopter to see things and take photos. This was SOOOO perfect. He tells you all about the history of the island, including the current events, like the recent flooding, and shows you where movies, etc. have been filmed. This tour has something for all ages! We all felt safe, at ease and extremely fortunate to be able to take this ride and see the island like this, especially since many areas are still closed from the flood. Everyone in our party highly recommends this as a must do if you go to Kauai. It was so worth the expense! THANK YOU BRODIE!!! Just a tip - book in advance so you get the best selections of days and times and WEAR dark clothing! Everyone in our family did, but another tourist did not and it does cause a reflection which you don't want for pictures! Also, it is so worth it to purchase the video recording of the flight when you're done. It is great to be able to go back and see and hear everything we did!
We LOVED our helicopter view of Kauai. It's an island that is best seen by air or by see and we decided to go by air. The sights were breathtaking, from mountains to the Waimea Canyon to countless waterfalls and, of course, the ocean. It was very obvious that safety is a top priority of Blue Hawaiian Helicopters which we greatly appreciated. The only downside to the tour was the slight motion sickness that we all experienced. We don't normally experience this but it was our first time in a helicopter. If we did it again, which we would love to do, we would make sure to take a Dramamine first so we could FULLY enjoy each and every spectacular sight there was to see.
This trip was worth every cent, I sincerely recommend going. Absolutely the best tour of its kind I have ever taken. A very skilled pilot was also extremely entertaining and informative. You have to see the sights to understand just how spectacular the views are. earth maps online do not give justice to the beauty of the coast, valleys, countless waterfalls and landscape of the garden island.
So we got to ride with Brian. What a great pilot. Was excellent at telling you what you are seeing but did a great job at explaining what was happening to the chopper as it crossed the terrain. For UPS'ers traveling there you should know he is an ex-UPS driver and you feel safe with him.
Our family of 5 (3 boys 14,12,10) had the best time with Beth. We were lucky to be the only ones on the helicopter that day. I was impressed at how comfortable Beth made our boys feel. They each asked a question during flight. We obviously bought the video afterwards to remember our special day. It turned out to be our boys favorite excursion out of the seven we did on our two trip to Hawaii. Mahalo Beth!
Very comfortable aircraft with super safe check in and boarding procedures. Wonderful people to assist you in every way needed in the office environment. The trip is amazing with great views of waterfalls, green mountains and canyons, and beautiful ocean views. Our pilot was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us information on what we were viewing and tidbits of past movie scenes, etc. that each location featured. A magical trip from take off to landing with attention to small detail the entire time you are under the care of Blue Hawaiian. Our whole family (husband, wife, teenage daughters) loved it!
What an amazing ride! It's true, most of Kauai you can only see by air. The views were absolutely breathtaking and we loved our pilot Brian. He was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. I LOVED sitting in the front seat. You can request front seat but it is not guaranteed due to weight. Very smooth, safe, amazing ride!
