What a fantastic EXPERIENCE for our family. After seeing many of the locations via tour buses, seeing the aerial perspective was a capper to the trip. Our pilot, Fernando, was very knowledgeable when it came to the numerous locations the route covered. Seeing the falls and the movie lot areas were really nice since the tours we were on did not much mention the location, other than acknowledging that movies had been made in the area. Very professional organization. Confident that this was a high-light tour for our entire family. Mahalo nui loa iā ʻoe
Took a helicopter over Kauai and it was the BEST experience. Since most of the island is not easily accessible this is the best way to see everything the island has to offer. Waterfalls everywhere and AMAZING scenery.
Absolutely amazing. So worth it. Highly recommend this tour! Our pilot and guide, Derek, was phenomenal.
Blue Hawaiin helicopter tours were awesome!!!! The experience was everything we had hoped for and much more!!!! The staff were super friendly and informative!!! Our pilot Alio was fantastic!!! We're good at telling us all about the island during the tour. They had choreographed music with your tour so it was very relaxed and not rushed. Took his time to make sure everyone got an excellent view of whatever we were looking at. He is from the island, so very knowledgeable. Would do it again in a heartbeat!!!
This was my first tour in a Helicopter and having issues with heights in the past I was a bit apprehensive. We had a complete safety briefing and our pilot told us his qualifications so I was reassured. The fight was amazing. Very little movement sensation and the ability to get close up to waterfalls and cliff sides was beyond my expectations. One couple did not show up for the tour so we were only 4 guests in the helicopter which made it even better as everyone had a window. It was a great experience beginning to end. They do not allow you to take pictures near the helicopter for safety reasons, but they do provide a photographer, of course the pictures are for sale at the end of the tour.
This was the absolute highlight of our 10 day trip to the Big Island. My 72 year old parents, husband, and I are still talking about how incredible it was. We were disappointed when we wouldn't be able to fly over Volcano National Park due to weather. Instead we got an extended tour over and around other areas of the island - Kohala craters, Mauna Loa, and Mauna Kea. Greg, our pilot, was fantastic at pointing out interesting sites and geological features and answering our questions. But he balanced that with quiet moments for us to just listen to inspiring music and savor the beauty of the valleys and waterfalls. We paid for the waterfall landing add on and it did not disappoint - absolutely magical.
Absolutely the best way to see the island because too many beautiful places (waterfalls, beaches, caverns, lava tubes, landscapes, crater) are simply not accessible by land. This is a 55 minute flight that seemed to last longer. Great visibility from any of the 6 seats. If you want to be in the 2 front seats (less camera lens reflection), pay extra. The helicopter ride is smooth and comfortable; pilots are experienced and informative. You can pop a couple dramamine an hour beforehand if you're still a bit quezzy. They video your flight which you can get for $85. A very memorable experience.
Simply amazing! Got a great overview of the entire island in our guide Shane was fantastic! We have done another island, and we’re shocked to find out that this one was almost 2 hours probably because the island is so big.
FREE FLIGHT - FULLY REFUNDED DUE TO FULLY CLOUDED VOLCANO ON THE CIRCLE OF FIRE TOUR. This was my first helicopter flight ever. Although the Blue Hawaiian helicopter company (BHHC) didn’t know it, their service &attitude made it one of the most memorable activities for our vacation to Hawaii. We called-in one day ahead of our flight, while other helicopter companies weren’t able to fit us in without a pre booked flight, BHHC surely did their best in putting our names down for a tentative flight immediately - as long as there were enough people per flight (4 minimum & 6 max per flight) we would be able to fly the helicopter tour. Luckily we filled our flight with all 6 passengers. Our trip with BHHC was the Circle of Fire flight, which mainly featured a flight directly overseeing the shield Volcano (lava only available when volcano is active). We arrived at BHHC Hilo airport site on time ready to go see volcano from up top, however our pilot Edmond gave us the heads up, that due to changing weather there was a high likelihood that clouds would cover up the volcano & we may not be see the volcano directly. Yet all 6 passengers all agreed to go up, cuz why else would you say no, having travelled across the world to see Hawaii & its volcanoes, we’ll take our chances - as slim as it may be. Flight was great, however as predicted clouds covered up the volcano completely, we saw everything else though, which included Mauna Kea & Loa, Hilo shorelines, local macadamias farms & the rest - still SUPER FUN! After landing Pilot Edmonds informed us, due to not seeing the volcanoes, we can get some sort of refund. My girlfriend thought maybe 50%, I thought 20% partial refund. But to our surprise & amazement it was a FULL REFUND (100% of what we paid including our upgrade to front seat - total worth about $950 USD). The service representative Juliana & her colleague processed it for us & told us it’s an unofficial company policy* - DO NOT RELY ON THIS INFO FOR YOUR TRIP, PLEASE CHECK WITH BHHC AHEAD OF FLIGHT. BHHC & I & MY GIRLFRIEND WILL NOT BE LIABLE. ;) So there was had it. My first ever Helicopter flight of my life completely paid for by BHHC. If my girlfriend & I were to revisit Hawaii in a future vacation, we’ll know which helicopter company we’ll choose for BEST IN CLASS SERVICE & FLIGHT PILOT & COMPANY POLICY :D Brought to you by Jessica & Roy 2022/May
From the helpful and welcoming front desk employees to the charming pilot Ben we had an amazing time! The ride was nothing like we'd ever experienced before and Ben was the best! The helicopter was roomy and comfortable and had huge windows on all sides for great pictures...Do it, you will be hooked!
Went before the pandemic in February 2019 and my tour was upgraded for free due to lack of passengers on my first choice. The breifing before the tour was very informative and each staff member was polite and professional. You can listen to the pilot's explaination of the island and ask questions during the tour. I have a trip booked next year so I'm considering choosing the same company during my trip in Kauai.
My family booked the Circle of Fire tour with this company on one of our last days on the Big Island. From the start to finish, Blue Hawaii was professional; kind; courteous in attending to our needs and making safety a priority for my family. We really appreciated being treated like VIPs on our vacation. Our pilot, Mike, was freaking awesome and provided us with his unique perspective about living on the Island and working through the Pandemic. He had a great sense of humor and I would highly recommend this company for your Helicopter tour experiences when you are in Hawaii. We are going to request him the next time we are on the Big Island. Thank you for a wonderful time and we will definitely come back and tour with you.
We loved our helicopter tour of west Maui and moloka’i. It was such a cool and beautiful way to see the island. The company and pilot were nice and easy to work with. We went on the 7:30 am ride, which made for beautiful conditions. The pilot took us into the valleys and we saw waterfalls and went over ridges. We really loved the experience and highly recommend l.
Pilot Greg and the actual flight was great. Where this business suffers is the ground staff. For the prices, there needs to be a certain level of service. The woman who did the safety briefing was mumbling and clearly annoyed she had to work. When one couple asked to go to the bathroom before the flight, she rolled her eyes at them in front of me. Don't do this in front of other clients, please. That's not okay. And then they say you can't take selfies in front of the helicopter, and say they'll take them for you. But it's just to sell you photos after. For the price, just let us take a photo with our own phones and don't try to charge $40 for one photo and say it's for safety reasons when it's not. It gets to a point where it's just greedy when the people in the building are so clearly miserable with their lives.
I was so bummed that it was cancelled, but was refunded. Will try next year
