This was really amazing and our Pilot Matt was wonderful. We took the waterfall landing option and was highlight of trip!
I went with 5 friends and we had a great time. We were able to see well from all of our seats (2 in front, 3 in back including 2 center seats). I would highly recommend this. It started raining during our flight and it didn't even phase our pilot.
This was my second helicopter tour with Blue Hawaiian- I completely trust the company and the pilots and staff were great- all 5 stars there. I am giving this one a 4 because to be honest it is a little boring (compared to the one we took in Kauai in 2010). We had an 8 AM flight and it was cloudy, so there was concern that we would not be able to take off. They made the decision right around 7:45 AM that it had cleared up enough to fly. I am not sure if it was because of the weather, there were a lot of clouds, but we didn't see much. We did not fly over the coast. We flew over volcanic rock. We went to 2 craters and could see some smoke- but no glowing lava. I had been in the park the night before and saw it glowing- but there was nothing to see in the morning via helicopter. The flight back was quick- not much to point out. If they could throw in a waterfall or flying over the coast- it might make this tour a little more enjoyable. I felt like seeing VNP on foot was a much better experience then the helicopter ride over it and my teenage daughter was not really impressed. Pilot was great. Rudy and Jules were awesome. Helicopters are not old and offer a very smooth ride. I would fly Blue Hawaiian again, but just not this particular tour.
Everyone from the flight crew to the pilot were fantastic. All did their best to make sure our trip was both fun and memorable!
It was a wonderful flight with the pilot Barry. He spoke very clearly, so that no English speaking people could understand him very good.
Yes.. it is a more pricey Maui excursion but really worth it. I’d been to Maui many times and this was one thing I hadn’t done. The pilot was extremely personable, and remembered our names from the first meeting and engaged us personally throughout the whole trip. It was not only gorgeous but informative and interesting. It’s a really great way to take in the sights of Maui that you wouldn’t normally be able to see.
Our pilot was very informative and tried to engage all the passengers. He very knowledgeable in everything. The only bad part is we didn’t see any “fire” I thought we would see lava like we had in the past.
Views were just breathtaking. All the photos and videos and Jurassic Park movies are nice but experiencing it for yourself is beyond compare. And if you're worried about fear of heights, motion sickness, etc., lay your worries to rest. We felt very secure, finding the aircraft to be very smooth and stable. Also, the extra hundred bucks for the front seats are well worth it.
Simply the experience of a lifetime. You'll get to see places that are impossible to see otherwise and the views are simply stunning. Our pilot Chelsea made us feel very safe and gave lots of fun and useful information, as she elegantly moved the helicopter through the sky. I would recommend this tour for everyone. We upgraded to the front seats, which made the experience even better and is worth the money.
We had a wonderful time on our helicopter ride. The pilot was superb--very smooth ride and she was very knowledgeable about what we were seeing. Breathtaking views!
Great ride! John, the pilot, and all of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The helicopter tour allows you to view parts of the island you cannot access any other way.
The Eco Adventure Helicopter tour by Blue Hawaiian is something that must not be missed. Our pilot, Alio, provided us with a very interesting perspective of the sights from the air. Despite some bumps during the flight, he did everything possible to make everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. The tour is worth every penny.
Great views. Toshi, was a great tour guide and an excellent pilot
Overall great tour. Only bummer was no pictures by the helicopter. If you wanted one you had to pay them$40…..ugh. Also. Your says it includes a video, but…..you have to pay for that too. $85. You spend almost $400 a person to have to buy things there brochures say are included.
Great helicopter tour of the volcanic activity on the Big Island. Our pilot was awesome, and we loved seeing Kilauea erupting (even if it was just a teeny eruption, it was really cool). I highly recommend this tour!
